Sherryll joined the MB Nature Summit Committee in 2020. Her favourite part of nature is seeing the wonderment through the children’s eyes and dreaming of living like a fairy amongst the peacefulness of the forest. She is a Site Leader at Freight House Early Learning & Care and has been working in the childcare field for over 30 years. She volunteers at Winnipeg Folk Fest and loves to be surrounded by like-minded people, who love music, and the outdoors. She helped to create a “Mommy and Me” group with the Youville Centre and volunteered as a Sherpa mother. (Assisting New mothers through postpartum adjustments).
Sherryll has four adult, (or nearly adult) children and counts the families, children and staff she works with as her second family. She loves to collect and forage for outdoor items to use in Fairy Gardens, mini treehouses and hideaways. She shares this passion with other educators and the children at their centres. She is creative, resourceful, passionate and loves sharing her gifts and knowledge about the outdoors with others.
