Workshop Description:
Using the fields, trails, and forests at Camp Manitou, your facilitator will show how an outdoor area becomes not just a teaching place, but a set of tools to help students learn curriculum-based lessons and concepts. Experience hands-on, ready-to-use lessons you can take back from the Summit, and sharpen your outdoor lesson planning.
Group this workshop is best suited for: Appropriate for anyone working with children in a school, child care, or informal education setting.

Presenter Bio:
Growing up in the forest around Pinawa, Manitoba, Barret played and learned outside. Saddened to learn not every child gets to do so, he decided to do what he could to make change! A big part of his position as Special Projects Interpreter at Fort Whyte Alive is facilitating the “Outdoor Educator” professional development series, equipping teachers everywhere to get children outside and learning!
